The product’s UX was overly technical, and the visual identity lacked the authority required to win over modern growth teams and enterprise buyers.

Renoir stepped in to architect a ruthless, competitor-targeted Go-To-Market framework, completely re-engineer the product experience, and build an elite, premium brand identity from scratch.

The challenge

The "Me-Too" Trap in a Crowded Market (GTM & Competitor Challenge): The B2B data landscape is fiercely defended by giant incumbents (Apollo, ZoomInfo) and rapidly evolving execution layers (Clay). Clozio risked being perceived as just another wrapper or a secondary tool, rather than a category-defining data orchestration workspace. They needed to clearly articulate why their waterfalling and signal-tracking logic was superior.

  • High Technical Friction (Product Design Challenge): Data enrichment tools are inherently complex. Clozio’s original interface felt like an engineer's dashboard—dense, overwhelming, and highly prone to user drop-off. If a growth marketer or SDR couldn’t build a working enrichment workflow within the first 10 minutes, they would churn.

  • Lack of Premium Visual Trust (Branding & Visual Challenge): Data accuracy is a matter of trust. Clozio’s early branding looked like a generic, template-built startup. It failed to convey the sophistication of their underlying technology, severely limiting their ability to command premium pricing or close deals with sophisticated revenue teams.

We approached the project by bridging heavy-duty GTM market data with high-end, conversion-focused design psychology.

A. Product Design: Simplifying Complexity

We transformed a complex data engineering tool into an intuitive, high-velocity workspace.

  • The "Time-to-Value" Sprint: We completely overhauled the onboarding flow, creating an intuitive step-by-step wizard that guides users from a raw CSV import to a fully enriched list with 3+ data sources in under 5 minutes.

  • Visualizing Data Workflows: We redesigned the core workspace UI (tables, formulas, integration nodes) to make the data waterfall feel tangible and visually gratifying, turning complex API mapping into a sleek, seamless user experience.

B. Brand Strategy & Visual Identity: The Premium Shift

We gave Clozio the aesthetic authority of an industry leader.

  • Brand Positioning Framework: We shifted the messaging away from dry technical specs ("multi-source API aggregation") to high-status business outcomes ("Market Saturation via Elite Signals").

  • Cutting-Edge Visual System: We engineered a dark-mode-dominant, razor-sharp visual system featuring high-contrast typography, refined geometric brand marks, and a flawless design system. This system was meticulously optimized to perform seamlessly across their digital marketing assets and directly inside the SaaS product layout.


C. Competitor GTM Architecture: Selling the "Signal" over the "Database"

Instead of competing on database size, we repositioned Clozio as a dynamic orchestration layer.

  • Exploiting Competitor Growth Leaks: We mapped out the exact limitations of legacy providers (stale data, lack of custom scraping, single-source dependency) and positioned Clozio as the ultimate antidote: a multi-source waterfall engine.
